About us

The Nederlands Welsh Pony & Cob Stamboek (NWPCS) is the oldest Welsh pony studbook in the Netherlands, proudly established in 1958. As a recognised daughter studbook of the Welsh Pony & Cob Society (WPCS) in the UK, we are dedicated to the preservation, improvement and promotion of all Welsh ponies and cobs in the Netherlands.

Today, the NWPCS counts around 1,500 passionate members. Our primary goal is to encourage the breeding, use, and enjoyment of Welsh Ponies and Cobs with a sound constitution and correct, functional, and appealing conformation.

What We Do
Each year, the NWPCS organizes a range of key events to showcase the breed and connect our community:

National Stallion Show in February (also broadcasted online);
Regional Shows (RK) where ponies are evaluated by official judges;
National Show (CK) in August, accessible by invitation only for top-quality ponies;
Sport events, including supporting the successful Dutch Pony Championship for 4-, 5-, and 6-year-old riding ponies.

At these events, ponies can earn prestigious predicates, adding value and recognition to their breeding potential.

Our Mission
We strive to be the key organization for breeders and users of Welsh ponies and cobs, helping to raise the overall quality of the breed in both breeding and sport.
