I bred my first Welsh pony in 1981 when I lived with my parents at Carr Farm in Derbyshire.
My husband Patrick and I have shown Welsh Ponies over many years and have won or bred winners and champions at major shows including The Royal Welsh Show, The Royal of England, The Royal Highland and other Royal and County Shows. Our homebred broodmares Carrwood Songlark and Carrwood Summertime have both won first prizes at The Royal Welsh Show.
Carrwood Orpheus owned by the Hilin Stud has proved to be an influential stallion coming 2nd in the WPCS sire ratings three times. Our own stallion Carrwood Bronzewing is a former National Welsh Show youngstock champion and Cheshire Show champion. His small number of progeny have been successful in the showring including Carrwood Shimmering Gold, a former winner at Horse of The Year Show and The Royal International Horse Show.
I admire a free-moving pony of Welsh character with a good shoulder, substance and quality. I love a Welsh head with a wide forehead and bold expressive eyes but not at the expense of qualities which make the animal sound for ridden and performance classes. Ideally, I will be looking for a well-balanced pony in both form and carriage.
I am honoured to have been invited to judge at The International Welsh Pony and Cob Show, a task which will be my pleasure to the perform with my co-judge to best of my ability. I look forward to seeing some of the wealth of ponies which Holland has to offer and to meeting fellow Welsh enthusiasts.

Ik fokte mijn eerste Welsh pony in 1981, toen ik bij mijn ouders woonde op Carr Farm in Derbyshire.
Mijn man Patrick en ik hebben jarenlang Welsh Pony’s geshowd en hebben winnaars en kampioenen gefokt en laten zien op grote shows, waaronder The Royal Welsh Show, The Royal of England, The Royal Highland en andere Royal- en County-shows. Onze zelfgefokte fokmerries Carrwood Songlark en Carrwood Summertime hebben beiden eerste prijzen gewonnen op The Royal Welsh Show.

Het is een eer om uitgenodigd te zijn als jurylid bij The International Welsh Pony and Cob Show, een taak die ik met plezier zal uitvoeren samen met mijn co-jurylid, naar beste vermogen. Ik kijk ernaar uit om enkele van de prachtige pony’s te zien die Nederland te bieden heeft en om mede-Welsh-liefhebbers te ontmoeten.

I’m from Sweden and as I think many of us breeders had done, I started as a rider and competed in
showjumping for many years. Started breeding welsh section B in 1987 and later we get the prefix
Joelsbo, when we moved to our farm. I’m on the Swedish panel of judges and have for many years
been in the team judging the Swedish stallioninspections.
Some of our ponies:
Sec. B Joelsbo Dazzle, Elitemare by Carolinas Foxglove, out of Wärnanäs Dixie, by Snowdon Blighter.
Dam to 3 licensed stallions, 2 of them in the Swedish Qualitybook. Sec B Joelsbo Coulthard by
Karlfälts Caruso, out of Joelsbo Dazzle, by Carolinas Foxglove. Coulthard competed in showjumping,
dressage, eventing and driving and he has offspring with successes in the showring and competing in
showjumping and dressage. Among his WPB offspring is Joelsbo Divine, Senior Champion at the
International Show in Denmark 2015. Sweden’s highest rated 3-year old pony/horse in loosejumping
and movement, so far.
Section B Joelsbo Aztha by Breeton Dai, out of Rhoson Anja by Eyarth Sama, Overall Supreme
Champion 2016 at the Swedish National Show, under 2 UK Judges.
A couple of the offspring by our stallion Cwrtycadno Meredydd (by Millcroft Royal Lustre out of
Talhaearn Eyrlys Y Pasg by Nefydd Autumn’s Chuckle) and born at the stud have had big successes in
National Championchips in jumping and dressage in yearlingsclasses. Some of them have BIS titles in
showrings.
Welsh ponies and Cobs are the most beautiful horses in the world. They have great power and spirit
and they love to work and do their best.
For me it’s important that the ponies are good movers and I’m looking forward to see all the
beautiful ponies at the show. It’s a happy moment seeing so many lovely ponies at the same time.

Ik kom uit Zweden en, zoals ik denk dat veel van ons fokkers hebben gedaan, ben ik begonnen als
ruiter en heb jarenlang deelgenomen aan springen. In 1987 ben ik begonnen met het fokken van
Welsh Sectie B pony’s, en later kregen we het Joelsbo-prefix toen we naar onze boerderij verhuisden.
Ik zit in het Zweedse jurypanel en ben al vele jaren lid van het team dat de Zweedse
hengstenkeuringen beoordeelt.
Enkele van onze pony’s:
Sec. B Joelsbo Dazzle, Elitemerrie van Carolinas Foxglove, uit Wärnanäs Dixie van Snowdon
Blighter. Moeder van drie goedgekeurde hengsten, waarvan twee in het Zweedse
kwaliteitsboek.

Coulthard deed mee aan springen, dressuur, eventing en mennen, en heeft nakomelingen

toe Zweden’s hoogst beoordeelde 3-jarige pony/paard in vrijspringen en beweging.

behaald bij nationale kampioenschappen in springen en dressuur, in de jaarling rubrieken. Sommige

Welsh pony’s en Cobs zijn de mooiste paarden ter wereld. Ze hebben veel kracht en spirit, en ze
werken graag en geven altijd het beste van zichzelf.
Voor mij is het belangrijk dat de pony’s goed bewegen, en ik kijk ernaar uit om alle prachtige pony’s
op de show te zien. Het is een vrolijk moment om zo veel mooie pony’s tegelijkertijd te zien.
